As one makes their way down the halls of Larned High School, they are likely to hear the chatter and gossip surrounding the school’s most popular winter event. What is this event? Two words, Winter, Royalty.
Winter Royalty is an event that is considered a sister event to the LHS homecoming celebration. Students of all high school ages vote on who they think should win Winter Royalty king and queen. Students who were voted to be candidates for homecoming are not included in the polls for Winter Royalty. This allows other students to have the opportunity to be involved! One thing that students look forward to the most is the high school’s annual pep assembly. The Winter Royalty pep assembly usually introduces the candidates, and has them participate in some fun competitive STUCO-led games while their peers cheer them on. However, this year, It’s not just the candidates that were able to participate in these fun events, the student body was able to join in on the fun and help their team reach the finish line.
Another fun activity students and staff look forward to during this time of year, is the school spirit days! Winter Royalty spirit days bring excitement and cheer to Larned High School’s students and staff. These spirit days allow an opportunity for those involved to get creative and have fun with how they dress and with what they bring to school! But let’s be real, the biggest part of Winter royalty is choosing the King and Queen.
This year’s candidates are Camden Bird, Jimmy Gardner, Joseph Wilder, Carter Crosby, Kaylyn Snodgrass, Liliana McKenna, Nydia Martinez, and Teagan Walker. We are thrilled to figure out who this year’s 2025 Winter Royalty winners will be. The winners will be announced in between the girls varsity and the boys varsity basketball games on Tuesday February 11.
We are excited to announce that this year’s Winter Royalty King is…. Joseph Wilder, and Queen is…. Kaylyn Snodgrass. Congratulations to them for being chosen as our 2025 Winter Royalty King and Queen.
