Senior, Jacob Colglazier is a man of many talents. However, he often does not receive the recognition that he deserves. Jacob is very involved here at Larned High School. He is participating in football, wrestling, tennis, scholars bowl, band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, International Club, National Honors Society, Larned High School Student Council, and Honor Band. He has been involved in all of these activities, except tennis, throughout his entire high school career! He told us that he began playing tennis last year because “I really enjoyed playing tennis over the summer.” He chose to play football, among other sports, because he had participated in them while in middle school.

Creative is an understatement when it comes to Jacob. He has many hobbies, and all of them express his creativity. His hobbies include playing the guitar, piano, ukulele, and French Horn. He also enjoys painting and building model airplanes. Jacob says that he enjoys these activities because, “With all those things, it’s an aspect of expressing yourself. There’s a creative outlet with them.” Not only does he have a lot of hobbies, but he’s also good at them! He has competed at state for the past three years for piano; last year, Jacob got a “one” on his French Horn solo, which is the best score a musician can receive.

Jacob says he plans on attending Wichita State University to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering. He wishes to pursue this degree because he likes airplanes. When asked about what goals he had for his senior year, he said, “I would like to graduate with a 4.0.” Because of his history, he will more than likely do so. All around, Jacob Colglazier is an amazing person with some incredible talents and hobbies! We can’t wait to see what his future holds.
